Hi everyone! I am a graduate of the Education program (B.Ed.) - Comprehensive School Health Cohort at the University of Ottawa. I have a diverse educational background in Child Development and Early Childhood Education, as well as an Honours degree in Social Sciences (B.Soc.Sc.) with a major in Criminology and a minor in Law from the University of Ottawa. In addition, I am one course away from my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology, and I hope to complete my Master of Arts Education (M.A.) with a focus on Strengths-Based and Inclusive Education for Students with Invisible Disabilities post-B.Ed.

My first practicum was in a Kindergarten class. My second practicum was in two classes: a Grade 3/4 split and a Grade 5/6 split. My practicum experiences in kindergarten and split grade classes have provided valuable insights into scaffolding lessons and understanding the continuity of learning.

I am a Les Mills certified group fitness instructor (BodyCombat and RPM) and am currently participating in a 200HR YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) program which will certify me to teach yoga classes and register through the Yoga Alliance. My certification as a group fitness instructor and ongoing yoga teacher training program demonstrate a commitment to holistic well-being and physical health.

My background includes working with sexual assault centres, crisis lines and support services, individuals who struggle with mental health, those who have experienced family and partner violence, and groups that focus on building self-esteem and assertiveness skills. My background in supporting individuals dealing with mental health challenges, family and partner violence, and self-esteem issues further enriches their perspective on inclusive education.

With a passion for filmmaking, writing, social justice, and emotional health, my interests align with my dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

I feel that bring a unique perspective to the field of education, and that my personal experiences along with my experience in practicum, fitness instruction, and support services have shaped my approach to inclusive education and well-being.

Thanks for joining me!
